The World's Best Bars

"The bar staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The drinks kick arse. I've read some criticisms here that they are all too sweet. I don't like a sweet cocktail: I like something pungent with a kick, and I get that every time. If you're concerned about a drink being too sugary, why not just ask the mixologist for recommendations before you order? I love it here. I've had a stream of out of town visitors this year, and I've taken them all here to universal raving approval. And honestly, the drinks are not that expensive when you consider that Pizza Express will charge you £6.50 for a bad glass of white wine."

Started going to this place when they have first opened it and after all these years it is still there with the cocktails being the best ones I've had in London town. "The default destination for a decent cocktail in Soho. The 'London Academy of Bartenders' is consistently busy and it's ways to see why. They have a big selection of drinks, they're not stupidly pricey for the location and they make a mean cocktail.

Lots of fresh fruits used, good quality booze, knowledgeable bartenders (obviously) and they seem to hire stupidly attractive people too which always helps.

Good for a quick drink after work or for a full on party."

Time Out

Best bar on Earth. The drinks alone would make it so, but the service is friendly and there's nothing snooty or sniffy about the crowd here. I regularly get in conversations and end up sharing sips of drinks with strangers (plastic straw method of course!). In my ideal world I'd be sat at the end of the bar every night watching the genius mixologists do their magic, and chatting with them about how they make the drinks. Fabulous.

Best for cocktails

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this little diamond by accident and now it's a regular favourite if we want a cocktail. It is the best place to find the most yummy cocktails in London. All made from fresh fruit! Great to out with the girls!! My fav is the three berry daiquiri. The cocktail list is very extensive there is something for everyone. They even do non alcoholic cocktails! The bar tenders are trained to the max and do all the fancy moves and shakes. I think you can even book lessons with them on cocktail making. Its def worth a visit!

There are a handful of bars that have become truly iconic and have stood the test of time; Milk & Honey in New York springs to mind, Lonsdale for many years, but go into any quality cocktail bar almost anywhere in the world and mention LAB bar in London's Soho and bartenders know exactly where you're talking about.

For those of you who are scratching your heads and saying, 'LAB? Never heard of it!' it's about time you crawled out from under your rock and had a look around. LAB has been at the sharp end of the bar scene in the UK for over a decade and while it's had its ups and downs it's never really fallen from grace. Right now LAB feels as though it is on an up-swing again, so I'm readily anticipating many more years of greatness from them.
